Joey Hernandez-Mena, a bird molecular ecology undergraduate student researcher in Dr. Justen Whittall’s lab at Santa Clara University, was invited to present her research at SCU's Undergraduate Research Showcase in February 2024. She was simultaneously inducted into Sigma Xi. For this research, she sampled and sequenced bird scat to determine whether birds at Coyote Creek Field Station are eating restored native plants or introduced plants. Photo by Justen Whittall
